    • Appeared in a short film entitled One Billion Rising in promotion of V-Day 2013; in revolt against women and children abuse. See This film is the brain child of Eve Ensler, author of the Vagina Monologues, whose motive is to uplift, make aware and empower women within abusive relationships and situations. V-Day is celebrated on 14 February, this year marked the year of One Billion Rising. The aim of the rising was to engage a billion people around the world to rise up and dance in revolt against abuse and rape towards women. This rising occurred all over the world as individual events throughout the day. The Sarvavidya Natyaalaya, an all women run company, fully supports and encourages events that promote the upliftment and power of women. We believe that we have a social obligation to use our divine art form as a medium to speak against systems that do not treat women and human beings with respect and equality, while at the same time still accessing the sacredness and spiritual nature of this dance.  We feel humbled to have been part of such a powerful message that was seen by billions around the world; a film that awakened the voices of those suffering quietly.
